Premarital Education: Why is it so important?

  • Premarital education is known as “marriage insurance!”
  • Couples who get premarital education experience half of the divorce rate compared to couples who do not get premarital education.
  • Premarital education can help you to make a good decision about whether to marry or not marry.
  • Premarital education teaches effective communication and can help you to understand each other better.
  • Premarital education will help you begin your marriage with the skills you need to make your marriage successful.
  • Premarital education will help you learn from the experience of married couples who will talk about their own marriages and what makes them successful.
  • Premarital education classes can be done in groups or as an individual couple.

    Getting married soon? Want to give your marriage a great start? Cut your risk of divorce in half! Come and learn practical ways to communicate effectively, how to fight fair and not hurt your relationship,  how to get along with your partner’s bothersome personality quirks,  and how to deal with two of the most difficult issues in marriage, finances and sex. We have regularly scheduled Saturday classes. Call our office for more information.

     

    Couple to Couple Premarital Mentoring

    For couples who are serious about ensuring their marriage gets the best start possible, mentoring may be the best choice. If you are a couple who is experiencing “issues” and you want to marry, mentoring may be the best choice.  Couple to couple mentoring is a service where the couple considering marriage works with a couple who has been married at least 5 years, and has been specially screened and trained to teach the 10 critical skills of marriage in 6 to 8 sessions. Couple to couple mentoring is very effective, and premarital couples who complete our program regularly tell us that they believe that their marriage is much better because of what they learned from mentoring.
